When many people think of
power they think of greed, aggression, force,
and lack of concern for others. You may recall
times in your life when you encountered such
power, either in others or in yourself and
someone got hurt. The media is full of images of
power, corruption and control. It is an
archetype, available for anyone who chooses it.
You can think of an archetype like a book in a
public library that you can borrow for as long
as you need. When you are finished with it, you
can return it. However, since an archetype is
not a tangible item, it is available for the
mass consciousness, so many people can borrow it
at one time.
Since so many of us have
been with this archetype for so long, it is no
wonder that when you begin a spiritual path, you
might struggle with power. Power seems to imply
struggle and inequality. Lightwork implies a
different, more loving type of service. And so
we end up with a duality of what we believe and
how we put it out in the world. Maybe also a
duality between how we are when doing our
lightwork and how we are in our “personal”
lives.
It is time to understand
power from a place of Universal, unconditional,
love. This is not a doing something “for” or
“to” type of power. It is not a doing something
“with” type of power either because it is no
longer necessary for us to have the ups and
downs of taking on the feelings of another. I
would call it a power of witnessing, a power of
facilitation, a power of knowing from being.
Have you ever been a
witness of yourSelf? Acknowledge your Soul, your
divinity, how it plays out in your emotional,
mental and physical bodies and
multi-dimensionality. We might call this the
power of being. Within the “old” model of power,
there are the people who do things to others and
the people who have things done to them. Then
there are the rescuers. It is a triangle and
people have spent many lifetimes on the triangle
going from one role to another. From a power in
love paradigm, there is no need for the
triangle. All you have to do is choose to get
off.
People not only do the
triangle with others but we do it within our
selves. This is the key to getting off the
triangle. Each of our bodies has one or more of
these triangles. If you have an illness or
stress, chances are there is a triangle busily
at work, a power struggle of some kind. Where
there exists a triangle, there is no room for
unconditional love.
We encourage you to take a
look within, to find those triangles and to let
go. It is important to let go in a way that is
not of the triangle, with no judgment. When one
gets into judgment it means that the roles of
persecutor, victim or rescuer are at play. Open
yourself to a new paradigm of love and power and
your life will change, often quickly and
dramatically. Every area of your life will
change when you radiate the light of true power.
It is who you are.
