Greetings my children,
this is Gaia, Mother Earth. As many of you have
noticed, my body has been going through some
changes, growing pains, lately. Since our bodies
are connected, this likely means your bodies
have been changing as well.
Your bodies are one very
significant way in which you connect to all of
life. Bodies are sensory beings, part of what
makes you a “sentient being.” As such, how you
feel about your body has a big impact on how you
experience your life.
Loving your physical body
has been a challenge for many of you. Lifetime
after lifetime, you are evolving in self love
along with me. Love of your body and love of
mine are the same process. Do you feel shame in
loving the Earth? I do not feel any shame
in loving your bodies. I look at all your sizes,
shapes and colors. I sense your struggles with
loving support and admiration. Just like a
mother watches her children take their first few
steps, I am just as in love when you fall as
when you walk. Learning to love your body, you
may feel clumsy and awkward, but you are not.
You are most beautiful, so very beautiful and I
often reach out in my heart to yours and give
you a great big hug.
I wish to encourage you to
really, honestly and truly take the time to love
your body. Therefore may I suggest the following
activity. You will need a full length mirror.
For this activity you start by creating a sacred
space in front of the mirror. Something
comfortable to sit on, some sacred/special
objects, candle light and soft music are
important. You will also need some massage oil
and a large block of private time. It is
important that you are not in a rush or a hurry
with this.
Begin by arranging your
sacred space. You will be seated or lying down
in this space so be sure it is comfortable for
an extended period of time. Use a chair or
pillows if necessary and adjust the mirror so
you can see all of your body. You are to do this
activity unclothed. This may be very difficult
for some people and that is the point. Be aware
of any feelings that come up and love them
without judgment. It is part of the healing
process.
As you watch yourself in
the mirror, really, really look at all of your
body, the parts you enjoy and those you wish
were different. It is all you. Notice in detail
your skin tone, your freckles, stretch marks,
curves and angles, body hair, etc. Touch your
face, neck, chest, arms, etc. How does it feel
to feel? There are so many ways to touch
ourselves and so many places we never even
notice or feel at all unless we get injured.
When you are ready,
nurture yourself with a massage. This is a gift
most people seldom give themselves. Instead it
is expected that this type of nurturing must
come from another person. It does not take
another person to love your body for you. We
encourage you to return to your sacred space
often, until you feel comfortable with this
activity. By then you may find it so enjoyable
that you continue anyway.
And that is the point.
Peace and love from Mother Earth.
